Training & Development

The Authority recognizes a responsibility to enhance the employee’s opportunities to develop skills and abilities for full performance within the position and for career advancement within the Authority. The Human Resources (HR) Unit has a responsibility to assist in the professional development of staff. The HR Unit assists in the professional development process by evaluating the recommendations of Unit Heads as well as employee requests for sponsorship through the Training and Development policy that the Authority has adopted. The HR Unit also assists departments by developing and presenting training courses. Unit Heads are encouraged to recommend to the HR unit any training and development which would benefit the department or the staff employee. Upon approval by the Unit Head, a staff employee may attend a training program conducted by HR or other designated providers.
