How do I apply for a Driving Licence?
If you have never held a Driving Licence before and you are over 18 years of age, you need to apply for a learner's permit, by providing us with:
- a completed application form including a certificate by a medical practitioner registered in Malta, who has to fill in the appropriate section in the application form;
- one coloured passport-sized photograph
When presenting the application form you are required:
- to produce your I.D. card or passport.
- to purchase (from LTD) a copy of the Highway Code booklet (€ 2.30 / Lm 1 ) and a Theory Test CD (€ 6.95 /LM 3).
- the permit is granted free of charge and is valid for a period of 12 months.
